    I can truly answer your question because that is the situation I am in right now. I still live with my soon to be ex husband because it is really expensive to move out. I am still going to school and just found a new job, so yes financially it is not feasible at this time. I am moving as soon as I have the money which will be next month. I keeping my fingers crossed that an affordable apartment will be open at that time.

    If there's only 1 or 2 years before the children are adults, then it seems the best option to keep stability in the home.

    Older children don't adjust as well as younger ones do, from what I know. Every situation is different...what will work for some, may not work for others.

    Sometimes it is entirely too expensive to move out at the moment. If a couple shares a mortgage/loan, it is kind of hard to cut and run.

    probably because they don't want their children to suffer the separation or because they don't have money to get a divorce...
