How do I get back my Top Contributor rating ?
I did have a Top Contributor rating but no loner have it in spite of my answering many questions.
It seemed to be pretty easy to get to Top
Contributor. In fact, I was surprised to get
the rating.
My activity and correct answer
percentage are still pretty high.
Science and Mathematics Cat.does take
much more effort and time to give
high-quality answers.
It's not a big deal.
I am here to help others and to learn.
I am 70 years old and my many
experiences do help. I have witnessed
and experienced a great deal.

Hi Donpat,
It does not matter how many questions you answer. Instead it depends on a variety of factors that Yahoo! does not mention. At least from my experience you need to log into Yahoo! Answers almost daily, answer questions almost daily, answer several questions in one category over several weeks, get your answers selected as "Best Answers." My feeling you lost your Top Contributor rating either because you were not logging in enough, did not have enough questions selected as "Best Answers" or you have not answered enough questions over a long enough period for one category.

You get it back the same way you got it in the first place. Your Best Answer percentage needs to be at or above 10% in the section you're trying to be a Top Contributor in. If you've maintained a decent Best Answer ratio since you've lost it, you shouldn't have to worry about that part of the criteria. That said, all you need to do is increase how much you answer. Rumour has it that you should average 40-50 answers a week.

Just answer 40-50 questions in the category you had top contributor in.

i never had one ---------------because i am a roaming bird ----------roaming in all the sections
but one thing i would suggest sir ---------------don't choose polls and surveys and religion and spirituality and politics ---------------it's very difficult to get a TOP CONTRIBUTOR badge from these sections
choose a section ---------in which you have most expertise-----most knowledge ---------and start answering in it for a period of time -------------you will get the orange badge--
even i am thinking of getting one ------------i can easily get it if i want to ------------like choosing the Bangalore travel section ------------its my city ----------and i can answer easily many questions
but staying in just one section bores the hell out of me ----------------hence i am all over the place in y/a
just my views sir
good luck
