Isn't it sad Jeff Van Gundy thinks the Heat will beat the Bulls record?

“They will break the single-season win record [of 72],” Jeff Van Gundy said. “And I think they have a legit shot at the Lakers’ 33-game [winning] streak [in 1971-72], as well. And only the Lakers have even a remote shot at beating them in a playoff series. They will never lose two games in a row this year.

“They have put together a much better roster than anybody could ever have expected,” Van Gundy added. “There is now no good way to defend them. They are unguardable. They are indefensible. They are just too good and have added so much shooting and are so versatile that they will score at will.

“And with Erik Spoelstra coaching, they will be in the top three defensive teams in the league, as well. The other 29 teams better hope the lockout gets moved up a year.”

I think he hates the Bulls.

Jeff Van Gundy has always said silly things. I get tired of listening to him on commentary when I'm watching a nationally televised NBA game.

It's irresponsible for him to say that, and it's also unrealistic. And he hasn't even seen the team play yet. He should learn when to shut his cake hole.

that's the only time he roots for the different team - maximum circumstances Van Gundy seems extra biased in the direction of the Lakers. i think of he needs to benefit a thank you to be an impartial commentator and speak to the interest as that's.

Jeff Van Gundy is a smart man, he is telling the truth. Go Heat.

To answer your question, no he doesn't hate the Bulls, he is just telling the truth. The Heat are stacked with talent, defense, shooting and down to earth guys, this will be hell of a season. I see them blowing teams away. It's gonna be fun.

it is a prediction. it is his opinion. what i think is sad is the fact that so many people on this section of yahoo answers will call someone crazy or they will look down on that person just because they dont agree with them.

the season hasnt started yet. so anything is possible. be a little bit more open minded... if jeff van gundy is "crazy" or "sad" for predicting something before it happens... then so are you.

Since when does anyone give any credence to what comes out of Jeff Van Gundy's mouth?

The only plausible things in that are the first two sentences. VG is my fave announcer but i think he's made this too big of a deal.

I agree with MR. NBA. They will choke in the playoffs.

  • Oh well he can say what he wants his views are highly unrealistic, especially for a team that has yet to play a game together, when did he say this?

no one knows.it could happen or not.we don't know yet until we see them play so i don't think people should be saying that they are going to break the record or that they won't break the record.
