If this Nation's Constitution came into existence?--?
"For The United States", why is now acting as enemy(to quote an Arizona Sheriff), by suing Arizona over the immigration issue? This same Constitution does endow the States with authoriy to protect their citizens and provide for their well being. It also endows the Congress in D.C. to control both Naturalization and Immigration, but not Illegal Immigration, which is not mentioned in this document. Therefore Arizona must control both the border from invasion and establish protection for its Citizens.---Why won't the Congress and present Administration help,as provided by the Contract with the States called the Constitution, and after the Governor has applied for their help? Seems it gives this State of Arizona all the reason in the world to opt out of this contract. It opted in in good faith and can opt out the same way. Is there any other way for the rest of the States?
Let's hope ---Andy is correct-- but the lack of interest by the Congress and Administration and their actions seem to sway the outcome in another direction.
rayven, you need to give the SCOTUS
case name and date,when you say that the Supreme Court has decided that States cannot opt out. It will be a revelation to all Constitutional Experts.

Obama and friends don't believe in nations or borders. They are still stuck on the "One World" nonsense.

The federal government is suing the state of Arizona over questions of constitutionality. Arizona isn't being targeted as an enemy at all - they are simply trying to quell an argument of law about what powers belong to the states, and which powers belong solely to the federal government.

That is a ridiculous statement. All aspects of naturalization and immigration are under the direct control of the federal government. Breaking the immigration law (illegal immigration) is a federal offense. There is also a power listed in the Constitution that gives the feds the right to coin money. Your argument would be akin to saying that while the federal government has the power to coin money, nothing is said about the states or people being allowed to coin fake money. Bad analogy.
On a slightly different note, illegal immigration arrests are up around 40% from the past few years. There are many more border patrol agents than a few years ago as well. Illegal immigration is much more controlled than what is commonly reported in the "news". But... bad headlines sell more papers and advertisements thanks to ratings, so we only get the bad side of the "news".
Lastly, your statement about the "opting in / out" of the contract is incorrect. States cannot "opt out" of the Constitution legally. This was decided by the Supreme Court. The only way out is either permission by the federal government (not gonna happen), or successful rebellion.

Section 1 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution:
"No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."
Yes, the better way is a coordinated response, instead of a patchwork of laws by State.

5,000 more border agents have been employed by Obama. Illegals' arrests and deportations are up 40% over what Bush did.

The Constitution is not suing Arizona, that is the President. SB-1070 is quite Constitutional.
