What are these red dots on my gums?
A few days ago, I noticed some slight pain in my mouth. I checked it out with a mirror and on my lower gum, where my wisdom tooth used to be, there are two tiny red dots. They almost look like puncture wounds from an insect bite or something. There is no swelling, but there is some pain on contact (eating).
Does anyone have an idea what they could be? I figured on the first day that I'd let it run its course, but it's become an annoyance now, so I've begun rinsing with salt water (no pain when I do that).
Thanks
Oh and by the way, my wisdom teeth were taken out over a year ago without complications.
Are you suggesting that they may, indeed, by cuts/punctures?
They appear as if they could be, but I'm not sure why the heal-time has been so long.

it may be that while your dentist was doing your cleaning or filling he or she may have hit your gums.you can strengthen them by flossing.
