Is it possible to have temporary short term-memory loss from hitting your head?

So I hit my head on a garage door about 5 days ago, and It hurt.

Then later that day, hit it again on a metal pole. I hurt more.

And it still hurts today slightly. Lately I have been forgetting things short term. Like I forgot my lunch 2 days in a row, and lost my backpack and had to get it back form the office. This was on my 1st and 2nd days of school.

So is this serious, and what can I do about it if it is serious?

Yes, hitting your head can lead to memory loss, but it's much more likely to affect your memories from just before or just after the accident. Two bumps on the head are unlikely to be affecting you now.

I think your forgetfullness around school stuff is more likely that you aren't in a routine yet, and you're probably a bit frazzled about the change in schedule and everything you need to keep track of with school starting.
