Is it really possible to travel free as an air courier?

I'm retired, hold EU and USA passports and want to travel more than I can really afford. Is this really an option or is it just one of those folk tales? How does one become an air courier? Yes, I can travel with just a carry on bag; maybe just a briefcase in extreme situations (after all you can buy what you need at your destination). I love to travel...

    Sadly it's no longer possible.

I did it years ago carrying documents relating to freight being transported internationally. Today the company simply sends the documents as email and they are printed at the destination so couriers no longer needed.
