Is chondroitin really helpful?
I've been taking a glucosamine HSN supplement and found that it has helped me quite a bit with back pain. I've been wondering if I should add the chondroitin the next time I buy it. My chiropractor says there's not much evidence that chondroitin does any good, although there is for the glucosamine. Does anyone have any experience or advice about this? Thanks!

No sorry, but there are a couple of monographs that you might like to read. The first one does cover the clinical indications regarding chondroitin usage. The second one is a general one for sulphates in human nutrition, including glucosamine sulphate, chondroitin sulphate and MSM.
1. Chondroitin sulfates. Monograph.

You might be concerned over the source for the chondroitin....a manufacturer should hopefully be able to advise you further regarding that. There looks to be an eco-friendly [vegan/vegetarian] chondroitin in development though don't know when this will be available:

Hope that helps.
Best wishes.
