UK: Aren't the TV competitions annoying?

Do you think that there are too many incredibly annoying competitions on the TV?

They're on every bloody program now

Update:

EDIT: I mean the program competitions on This Morning, Magic Numbers, X Factor and every other program in between

How many sides does a pentagon have?

Such stupid frigging questions on over and over

AND.... has anyone twigged that although Shamus Homes and his wife have been bashing on for ages about their wonderful £100,000 competition on "This Morning" - as the prize is usually £25,000 PER WEEK - they're saving a fistful this summer aren't they - that bloody pentagon question has been kicking around now for weeks but it's only costing them four week's-worth of prize money.

A good trick if you let them get away with it - and you can only vote in one week - once you've voted a week's-worth (five entries) they chuck any more out !

the tv gambling and tv shopping that comes on is actually a good thing, without them we would probably loose a lot of good shows, they help to pay for programs.

the phone in competitions are the ones that get to me, the simplest of questions are always asked like 'who is 007? A) The Hulk B) James Bond C) Rambo' lol

    edit_

thats what i'm talkig about too, the phone in ones on tv shows.

I know it started with the big chain supermarkets, then it was the cash for gold adverts and now it's the damn quick loan systems! (e.g. quickquid)

    It is incredibly annoying!
