Well, just start off wih a thesis which leads you to believe why you think they are ignorant, which will support your own belief. Such as:

    - an interesting fact about Black Americans, that leads on to your topic.

    - statistics of something involving your topic.

    etc.

Then continue by saying 'with saying that, I believe that atleast 55% of the Black American population are ignorant...."

Not all colleges require an admission essay. You're on the right track in thinking the goal of an admissions essay is to get the college to better know you. The essay, however, isn't a life story. You'd be hard-pressed to fit your entire life's story in an admissions essay ;) The key is to choose one experience or event that helped shape you into who you are today or illustrates your personality. You could also choose an experience that led you to realize what you want to do in life or what you hope to accomplish at college.

Regardless of your belief, there is a fairly simple formula for writing an essay.

    1. Tell them what you're going to tell them.

    2. Tell them.

    3. Tell them what you just told them.

(I'm hoping you don't really believe this and are being satirical. Johnathan Swift wrote a scathing essay on solving the famine in Ireland -- eat the children. It is still considered one of the greatest works of satire in English literary history.)

Talk about graduation rates, dropout rates, and the general celebration of ignorance in urban black culture.
