Is polenta made with simple corn meal or is it a special blend of cornmeal?

I'd kind of like to try making it, but am unsure if I need a special ground cornmeal to do it

    You can use yellow corn meal or polenta. Try allrecipes.com for recipes.

    Cornmeal is made from yellow corn.

    You make it with regular cornmeal, I've made cornmeal mush with it and it has the same texture as polenta.

    regular works fine..my son likes to use the thicker grained kind..just kinda what ever you prefer.
