I would like to make a fruit crisp, however I have no brown sugar (or molasses to flavour white sugar)?

How bad would it turn out if I used white sugar entirely with both the fruit and crisp part?

Update:

And is it necessary to peel the plum and nectarines I plan on mixing in with the apples?

Hi It is not necessary to peel the plums and peeling the nectarines is optional. I wouldn't bother as Iike the tart skin. Using white sugar is fine. The flavor will be a little less rich but you could add some maple syrup and /or cinnamon to the fruit. The topping will be a little crunchier. You can add a little cinnamon or nutmeg to that too.

Put a sprinkling of black pepper in instead.
