How do I cook this lamb?

I've never eaten lamb, let alone cooked it, but there were some lamb stew pieces dirt cheap where I got my stew beef, so I thought, "What the hell?" These suckers are on big pieces of bone with tons of fat. Am I supposed to cut it all off the bone or what? I tried that with a couple pieces (much to the delight of my kitties), but it was a LOT of work. I browned the little pieces with just some seasoned salt for a couple minutes on each side and they were wonderful!

My husband won't eat lamb but this was so mild, he probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference once I cooked it with the beef. Can somebody tell me what to do with these bony, fatty chunks of meat? Thanks.

Update:

Thanks Miz Lamb. So I'm supposed to cut the fat off (all the kitties--indoor and out--inhaled the raw fat), but what about the bone? Do I cut the meat off before or after cooking it? And you're right: My husband doesn't have to know.

first trim off all visible fat on the lamb. give this to your kitties or fry it a bit then give it to them. Lamb fat isn't all that appetizing or tasty.

cut up the lamb meat into small bites, same size as your beef chunks or cut beef to match the lamb chunks.

Brown the lamb in saute pan with olive oil. I like a bit of garlic salt and some rosemary leaf on them. KISS - Keep It Super Simple!

Toss it along with the browned beef into stew pot and proceed as if you were making beef stew. OR! toss it in the stew pot with celery chunks, onion chunks, potato chunks, long green chile chopped, and a dash of cloves. Always salt and garlic to taste.

I almost guarantee that your husband will eat it if you don't tell him what he is eating before he eats!

Everyone around me has to guess what kind of meat I am serving today. I would think the rosemary would give it away, but they don't notice what herbs I use I guess.

throw it all in a pot with some beef broth and veggies / potatos...make a stew. You can also just season it and grill it like a steak.

Do you know what the joint of meat is?

    Shoulder? Shanks? Chump chops? Neck?

If it's just diced lamb,, chuck it in a casserole pot, with diced veg, and make a nice casserole/stew.
