are all contact lens prescriptions the same?

i had my eyes checked and got a prescription for contact lenses. so now can i get any brand of contact lens? because there are alot like acuvue or bosch and lomb and air optix. i want to try 1 of each to see which one i like best.

    I wore contact lenses for 20 yrs and I was never fitted for them. I was just given a brand of contact and told to try them. Yes all prescriptions for all brands of contacts are the same.

    Yes. Most times people have different prescriptions in each eye but having the same prescription in both eyes is also common too.

    Are you sure you got a prescription for contact lenses? Cause they're suppose to fit them for you and tell you which brand works the best for you, AND teach you how to use them.
