what - why ? ? OR do they - egg producers - any food producer?

confusing I understand - - But this last salmonella (any - e- colli etc)

do these producers pass their 'fines' for illegal action ON to us - ? ?

or do they extract that money from the stock holders - or the management staff - or the gross profits of their company - - ? ?

sorry I still can not understand the banking industry bail-out

    The problem with the eggs is that the producer was never punished except in the state of Maine. So he shut down operations in Maine and moved to Iowa where there were softer laws about egg safety. Yes, his intention would be to pass along the costs to consumers.

    Now his gross profits are suffering.
