Motorcycle helmet developing a unsavory odor?
Do a lot of riding in South Texas---head/hair sweats---What about putting helmet in the dishwasher?

wash it with wash rag and forget edishwasher/wear bandana on head when wearing helmet/get small bowl/wash rag in shampoo mix and wring it out and start wiping/keep it up until it smell nice/leave in the sun to dry

Maybe with cold water only, but I wouldn't do it to any of my helmets. And don't subject it to the drying cycle--too hot. The more expensive helmets have removable, washable liners. Yours. however, may not. Do you still have the manual that came with the helmet? If not, you might check the manufacturer's website for instructions and warnings.
FYI, when I come back from a hot ride, or worse yet, a day of teaching new riders in a parking lot in the hot sun, I put my helmet on a floor resgister, so that the air conditioning cools it and dries it out. I've been teaching about 20 days a year since 2004 with the same helmet, and it's still fresh.

There is a product out I think it is called Helmet Refresher.Been a problem for a long time,never heard of puttin it in the dishwaher before.That is one of the reasons to own 2 helmets and never borrow one to or from someone else.

I would argue that you my friend are developing an unsavory odour and your poor helmet is but a victim of its environment !
