The OCP is excreted into urine and enters our fresh drinking water supply all over the world. It threatens not only fish reproduction, but human fertility as well. Natural family planning is, however, a 100% organic, green and healthful alternative that has zero side affects on people and the planet.
Peace and blessings.

I agree "Miss Mouse" Let's all spread the word. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqxENMKaeCU
Reporting results of a seven-year research study at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Boston, Karen Kidd, a biology professor at the University of New Brunswick, said
that the synthetic oestrogen contained in birth control pills are ruining the fishes’ reproductive system.

This is awesome! Nice find.
As a Catholic, I see this as selfish.
SURE there are things we do that pollute..but this one seems like something we COULD stop if we wanted to, on an individual level, at least.
Changing societies attitudes as a WHOLE, however, is unlikely.
But I'd argue that Other cases of pollution are not so cut n dry for a person to simply stop, as suitable alternatives do not exist.
But it seems like this is one more nail in the coffin for Contraception and 1 more vote towards NFP.
I'm sure I'll get thumbs down for that.

Well, it's probably less harmful to the environment, in the long run, than bringing another child into the world just because you didn't use birth control. More humans = more pollution.
Far more toxins are released into the environment any time someone is buried (due to embalming fluid) or cremated. Or any time someone drives a gasoline-powered vehicle.

Our environment was created by GOD. Protect and take care of it not destroy it. It is a sin to to do something bad to our environment just to promote your vested interest.

That is not the only one that is polluting our earth pretty soon you will need to go into drug rehab after drinking a glass of tap water .

No, it is only ok to poison the environment to exterminate pests such as troublesome rodents.

My dear Miss Mouse, the run of the mill evironmentalist CARES about the earth...as long as said caring doesn't effect what THEY want.

I wonder if anything is right or wrong, or is it rather that: there are consequences for all actions, some of which the brain with its background of memories has decided to be unpalatable?

if you do some more research, you will see that a lot of personal grooming products that end up in our water systems, lakes, rivers, seas, etc....do the same thing.
but there should be a more Earth friendly option.
