Can you recommend a reasonable hotel in The Plaka in Athens, Greece?
We'll be in Athens for one night in mid-October before we board a cruise ship. We'd like to take the train from the airport to The Plaka and stay there for one night. Can someone recommend a reasonably priced hotel not far from a train stop?

I stayed in a very nice and reasonable hotel by the name (what a coincidence!) "Plaka Hotel".
It had views of the Acropolis and it was very modern and clean.

Another very nice hotel I stayed before and liked nearby is called "Athens Gate"

Both hotels were reasonable, had good reviews on trip advisor and were nearby The Metro

Most of embassies advise people not to travel to destinations like Greece, Somalia or Yemen in such times, and is the possibility the situation might escalate and occupy the airport in order to make their voices heard. I would suspect the islands might not be affected as in Athens for example, however it always takes a small group people with 'problems' to affect the tourists' life. Keep an eye on the news and Home office web site.

Greece is not safe. So, come to Croatia where rich people go. Don't go to Somalia, Greece or Yemen where poor syndicalists make protests and dye in riots.

Most Greek guys I know stay at the all-male hotel called "Torn Kolos Resort". No women are allowed, so I can't explain what it's like in there. Sorry :(

No, no no...Greece is not able to solve this social crisis and state collapse alone. We need our neighbor countries armies and police to intervene to organize order
