last i heard it was a publicity stunt, i also heard it was balloons that were released from a party accidently though i doubt that, since when do balloons have tails with lights attached?

I don't know about flying objects but i did see a big orange balloon with CONAN written on it. :)

It was actually one flying object. We know it as Sarah Palin. She figured she could see Russia from her house and wanted to have a look at NYC from the sky. It was later discovered in big smoke like letters, she had written from her broomstick, "SURRENDER DEMOCRATS". No mystery, just Palin putting her broomstick where it don't belong.
