supposed to be Permaisuri agong, not rosmah

"Constitution of Malaysia (formally known as the Federal Constitution of Malaysia) Article 32 (2) says that the Consort of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (to be called the Raja Permaisuri Agong) shall take precedence next after the Yang di-Pertuan Agong over all other persons in the Federation. In other words, the Raja Permaisuri Agong should be the "First Lady" of Malaysia instead of the Prime Minister's spouse.

The title First Lady is controversial and is challenged that it should not exist in Malaysia on the premise that Malaysia is not a Republic. The same applies in Canada where the wife of the Prime Minister is simply the wife of the Prime Minister and not the First Lady of Canada. That singular privilege belongs to HM The Queen. Hence, the legality of such a status is challenged.

During Tun Abdullah premiership, there has not been a precedent in Malaysia where someone other than the wife of the Prime Minister served as First Lady. Even when the then Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's first late wife, Tun Endon Mahmood Ambak died due to breast cancer or during her long absences in the United States for treatment, there was nobody who was officially designated as first lady in her absence."

1st Lady is the norm title for the wife of a President or the Chairman ( in the case the country does not have a president i.e China)

In the case of Philippines , the president is a lady. But her husband is NOT known as the 1st man .

Malaysia is a Constitution Monachy country and therefore such title is for the queen.

As the Agong ( equivalent to King ) have a wife.

Therefore the queen will be known as the 1stLady of Malaysia when she is in a foreign country.

Wife of a prime minister is just a wife of a prime minister.

There are protocols to follow .

    * " Dah janda mana boleh jadi 1st lady ? "and " Biadap , tak tau malu " That is what most bloggers put it.

Actually there is no 1st Lady as such of Malaysia .... however, we do have "Prime Minister's wife" named Rosemah ....who is often seen as more powerful than the PM himself...

[ The honorific term "1st Lady" is origionally retricted to describe the wife of the President of the USA. Unfortunately, it is unashamedly adopted by others less qualified, and somewhat come to be accepted by the general public to mean the wife of the head or CEO of a country .]

The rightful 1st lady is the Raja Permaisuri Agong since Yang Di-Pertuan Agong is the Head of State.

    The pretend-to-be deserves another title: 1st b1+ch.
