everyone, and every situation is different.

i usually found it not very effective when i listened to music that was familiar to me. as much as i liked to do that when i was younger, it really did distract me and i was not studying effectively. sometimes i need complete silence when i need to deeply concentrate, sometimes i like some quiet, mostly unknown music to just keep me calm.

    good luck!

Make a long CD and don't change the song. Study. Plus, there are people who cannot study without music. There are also people who cannot study with music. It really depends.

  • It depends on your style of learning and studying..

Some people like to coop themselves in a room to avoid noises

Some need to listen to music (I don't, it makes me listen to the song lyrics, instead of my book)

Some need to have snacks and chips while they're studying

Some need to study in an open green environment

Some need to turn off the room light, pull the curtain and turn on only the study lamp (so that it is very concentrating)

Thus, it's good for you to try and find an optimal study situation for your unique self, then stick to that particular studying technique. People are different, after all..

it was said that classical music improves mental function a while back but lately they've been saying that theory was bunk
