How can I best create a web page?
I have never done any web design before, but have been asked to do so for my local society. I had thought of trying out Coffee Cup's software on their 28-day trial offer. Have you used it? Can I try it without buying space on the web to build my pages on? And if I need web space, where do I rent it from? (this might be a silly question: I have half an idea that my broadband provider offers limited web space).
Or is there any other easy-for-a-beginner-to-use software that is not expensive that you would recommend instead? All we would want is a simple 3-page design with the odd photograph; some text, and links to email addresses, and generally make it attractive to look at.

Wix - is another site you should have a look at, to create a website (in Flash mind you) and use the templates to customize the design.
They have a very useful forum too.

Microsoft Office Live Small Business is a good option for beginners. You'll get a free website/hosting, domain and 500 MB of storage. The templates and design tools make it easy to create the website and the online community is a great resource for Q&A and tips.

1. You can use a very simple Publisher-like free program called NetObjects Fusion Essentials to design your site then upload the files to your chosen host.
2. You can use a free web host called Atspace to hold your web site, its free with no ads.
