Interesting question that one could only speculate as to the answer, but makes for interesting discussion. But I kinda think there has been so much in the main thrust of the news for so long now that they (news people) probably think everybody already knows who they are going to vote for by now. I would be satisfied if the thrust was to VOTE, as opposed to WHO to vote for.
