Could I hook up a circuit breaker to a 16VDC power pack and not damage anything?

I model railroad and need to know if I can hook up a circuit breaker to a Hobby transformer that gives off 16VDC. Please tell me to add details if necessary so I can get the answer I need. Thanks, AJ.

Yes. As long as the voltage rating of the CB is more than the voltage it is interrupting it will do it's job. As to damage, it depends on how you hook it up, and what you are trying to do with it.

What is the reason for this circuit interruption?

Is it to protect a light, a motor, or a combination of components?

You can use Resettable Fuse (PPTC), you will need to get the one with the right operating parameters for your project.

I would recommend a Fuse rated at the all the specs you need for this application
