No. I am legally free and only a defacto slave, since "employment" is a privilege and therefore taxable as an excise. I could regain my freedom by becoming unemployed ;-)
Frankly I do not care what The Pope said in 1493.

After I was taught to believe I am a free man, I have had a lot of experiences that cause me to believe otherwise.... Maybe I am legally a slave after all... With the way the voters sold themselves and me out to the Republican Party, maybe we should be prepared to live the life of paupers instead.
