Any relief for tinnitus that ANYONE knows about?
I asked this question exactly a year ago here now and only got two responses, both trying to sell me ebooks ...
Here is the original question and I will add an update ...
Any severe tinnitus sufferers out there that have found even SOME relief?
I have extreme tinnitus and doctors say that there is no cure (or I feel sometimes no proof that you hear anything) for it.
I have even had (at the suggestion of my GP who consulted who she said was a specialist in such) a CatScan on my brain looking for a particular deformity in certain SMALL areas of the brain that can cause this ... with negative results.
I have a very HIGH pitched tone screaming constantly in my brain and a medium lower tone underlying it also constant (kind of making a chord)
I have had this for most of my life and am totally non-plussed that my GP has said that she has never heard of such.
Point being ... it has decided that it is not loud enough and has been (admittedly at a very slow pace) getting louder and LOUDER!
When doctors throw their hands up ... what do you do?
For addition information, I am 58 years old and worked in an EXTREMELY noisy factory in my early twenties. I have had two serious car accidents which I have walked away from almost unscathed but for head banging "superficial" injuries ... one when I was on a bicycle and got T-boned and my head broke the windshield of the car.
To finish ... do ANY of you out there know a solution to even relieve slightly my condition?
Thank you in advance and please do not post flippant responses to this question. It is VERY important to me.

Back to the present ... I have had further tests including EEG during audio stimulation and others ... with totally negative findings ...
I have tried EXTREMELY expensive but thankfully free-trial hearing aids with a "white noise" type adjustable constant sound generator in them that only sounded like rushing water and when turned up loud enough so that it drowned out the whistling in my ears/head drowned out everything else too! It was like how you can hear a mosquito by your ear even when near a rushing waterfall. Unsuccessful to say the least ...
... any other ideas out there ?
... thank you again in advance if you have any ideas or suggestions ...

Please don't think this is a flippant answer, but I suggest you hydrate yourself throughout each day with good drinking water. I've been reading a lot lately on the effects of dehydration compounding the negative effects of every condition out there and the relief that simple daily hydration has had for people suffering from a variety of illnesses/conditions.
I know, it sounds too good to be true but many conditions are helped immensely by simply drinking more water.
Start your day off with a tall glass of warm water, for instance, instead of coffee. If you love coffee, drink a weaker version and return to water throughout the day. Best to use filtered or bottle water from a pure spring like Crystal Geyser.
Why not give it a try? Nothing to lose and it might really help.

Tinnitus is a hearing condition usually caused by continued, loud noise like listening to rock music with portable ear pads. People who work in noisy locations who are unable to cover their hearing can develop Tinnitus. At present, there is no cure for Tinnitus. The Cochlea is the mechanism inside our right and left inner ear that regulates our movement and maintains our balance as we walk, bend over, etc. The hairs within the Cochlea can be damaged by loud noises that lead to ringing in the ears.
I suggest your inquire with an Audiologist, a technical person measures one's hearing, and discuss your condition. I read of a microwave instrument that Audiologists use to help tuned-down the ringing in patient's ears. Perhaps this advancement can help you. An Audiologist measured my hearing and discovered I was nearly deaf in one ear. I had a tumor growing on the acoustic nerve of my right ear. The tumor was excised , but I lost hearing in my right ear. I recommend Audiologists to anyone with hearing problems.

You can try chewing gum and drinking extra water (not carbonized drinks). Unfortunately, loud music can cause severe and permanant hearing problems and what you are experiencing is a warning sign. You need to let your ears rest by not listening to ANY loud noises of any kind before you cause permanant damage to the stapes in your ears and do not try popping them. I hope this helps.

I have heard many good experiences with tinnitus homeopathy. You can read a good article about it here, hope it helps:

Tinnitus is supposed to be incurable but if you want to see numerous claims that it is curable you can see them in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22tinnitus+cu...

I agee with the person who said that homeopathy can help. However, I would not go the route she suggested. Instead you must find yourself a certified homeopathist who will then determine what your constitutional remedy is. If you want further information, please e-mail me via my profile page.
