Which COD game is best for beginners?

Question

My boss wants to play something like COD with his nephew, but he has NO experience with shooter games... well, not since DOOM anyway :)

He's in his sixties and doesn't have super-rapid reflexes, so he'll be playing on easy and just wants something FUN to play between different rooms of the house or even split-screen. Having a good campaign would be a plus, but he probably won't put in the time to finish it.

I've heard lots of negative feedback about Black Ops and it's crappy graphics, so that's out.  So which of the earlier COD games would be best for him?  COD4 Modern Warfare?  Or MW2?  He's got an Xbox 360, by the way...

I would suggest getting Black Ops anyway, since less and less people will be playing the older games... Basically, it'll just have better longevity.  I'd also recommend Halo Reach, it's probably a lot more fun than COD.

Black Ops doesn't have crappy graphics.

Honestly, if I was to tell him to get one CoD game, I'd say Black Ops. The multiplayer bots make the game a lot easier to pick up and learn, they act as training wheels for multiplayer. That and it has a long story mode, which is kinda fun.

If he wants a different type of game, Gears of War is actually really good for that too. The cover system and cooperative play make staying alive and doing well really easy.

COD4 - less annoying, nooby tactics, but lots of hardcore snipers/montage making people play it
MW2 - More noobs, less hardcore people. Better graphics, but slightly more complicated with killstreaks all that.

I reccommend MW2.
