Best Call of Duty game for newbies?
My boss wants to play something like Call of Of Duty with his nephew, but he has NO experience with shooter games... well, not since DOOM anyway :)
He's in his sixties and doesn't have super-rapid reflexes, so he'll be playing on easy and just wants something FUN to play between different rooms of the house or even split-screen. Having a good campaign would be a plus, but he probably won't put in the time to finish it.
I've heard lots of negative feedback about Black Ops and it's crappy graphics, so that's out. So which of the earlier COD games would be best for him? COD4 Modern Warfare? Or MW2? He's got an Xbox 360, by the way...

I actually think that you should get black ops. I know you heard a lot of bad stuff about it, but its definetly the best one for beginners. The single player has a great story, and you can play regular multiplayer. But the good part is, there is another mode in multiplayer where you dont play actual people, but instead, bots. You can set the difficulty of the bots to easy, and therefore he can get a lot of practice before actually playing anyone. He still gets the same xp and cod points and everything. Hope this helps

I have played all Call of Duty games since COD1 and become a fan when I got my hand on COD2.it was really an awesome game.
but when I played Call of Duty 4 Modern warfare then that was totally different experience from past three games.it was easy as compared to previous titles.if you never tried any COD before then COD MW1 is a perfect choice.COD 5 world at war provide good single player but nazi zombie mode was pretty awesome.COD MW2 continues the story of MW1 and even provide the better campaign than MW1.extra special ops mode is pretty good with variety of different missions and Graphics are far better than any other title in the series.
it would be a good idea to try the MW1 first then MW2.both are great games.I can't comment about the black ops since I haven't tried it yet but still it looks a good game.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are the best in my opinion. World at War is pretty enjoyable, especially when you unlock "Nazi Zombies."
However, my favorite classic game is Call of Duty 2, despite the fact that the graphics aren't as good since it was one of the first 360 games to be released.

I would honestly recommend Spec Ops for beginners overall.
Start with easy mode and you get into the shooters faster than ever.
Not too much cut scenes, no inventory you have to learn again.
No new stuff like upgrading weapons, just straight forward great story with good aiming and recoil.
Also the story in its simplicity is great.
Spec Ops definitely offer as well alot of trophies for starters and while its easy mode is very easy, it will drive you crazy with its FUBAR MFIC when you get better with shooters.
Hardest mode is considered one of the hardest of the shooter games.
Platinum / 100% you really can be proud of.
