Why do some people spend an amazing amount of time bad mouthing breast cancer awareness?

when it would probably be a lot less effort and far more rewarding to actually get out and promote awareness of other cancers that they feel deserve it more?

Update:

Yes, I agree that it is over saturated but my question is why people are content to just bad mouth it rather than promote these other worthy causes. It's kind of like the little child complaining because another child got more lollies than he did when all he had to do was get up and walk over and take a lolly from the bowl himself.

Can you explain that? Oh yeah, and how is promoting something stealing from others who are just as capable of promoting themselves?

Because the person to whom you are referring is a misogynist, leading a misguided, one-man campaign against women.

He claims that the awareness movement and the Susan Koman Foundation are sexist because they raise funds for a cancer that affects "less then 1% of men, and does not affect children".

How misguided can you get? How many children left motherless from breast cancer are 'not affected'? How many widower husbands are 'not affected'? One in eight female children will grow up and develop breast cancer, a cancer which will not just affect them, but their husbands, children, friends and their whole community.

Do not berate the misguided fool who invests his time here trying to incite an anti-awareness movement, as his efforts only manage to further promote the breast cancer awareness campaign.

It isn't 'some people', it's one person with more than one account.

And Denise is right, the reason for his campaign is hatred of and bitterness towards women; his questions in other sections reveal a nasty streak of racism too, particularly antisemitism, so women aren't the only group he has problems with. But his resentment towards women is his main motivation, and is explained by this question:

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Anu_a...

Can't get a girlfriend; rejected by women. Simple as that.

His problems with women rejecting him have led to his whinging rants about breast cancer. But where his bitterness at his rejection finds its most despicable expression is when he taunts and jeers at those who post on here fearful that they have breast cancer.

He's taken to advising those posting their worries and fears about family members who've been diagnosed with breast cancer that their loved ones will be ok, even when the breast cancer is advanced and despite the fact that their oncologists are unable to give them that assurance. All part of his insistence that breast cancer is not as serious as other cancers, or as he likes to put it himself 'not even fatel (sic)'.

His grotesque insensitivity and revolting self pity prevent him from noticing that he is getting no support from people who have other types of cancer or their family members - the general disgust at the way he is using a board where people dealing with a deadly disease come for support, comfort and advice seems to go over his head.

His jeering at a dead woman is nauseating; but the best approach to his 'questions' is to ignore them, and the best response to the 'answers' where he copies and pastes his rant against Susan Komen or taunts people who have or think they may have breast cancer is to report them - the violations are usually 'not a question or answer' and/or 'insulting other users'.

Because the guy is a lazy idiot who couldn’t get a girlfriend if he paid for one and this is the basis of his rants targeted against women.

The proof of his narrow minded stupidity is evident by his question and his statements.

He addresses Susan Komen as if she were alive.

He makes references to cancers at effect men, women and children equally when he has been told no such cancer exists.

He would recognize equality if it slapped him in the face.

He has resorted to answering his own questions, as he has 2 accounts.

The list goes on and on.

We could equally ask where does all the money raised by "cancer awareness" go?

Millions raised, then what? Given to drug companies? To Universities where Professors "study" the effect of cancer drugs on rats and announce they are onto something and in 5 years will trial it on humans?

It's not the awareness of cancer that's in question, that's commendable, it's the lack of balance between funds raised and results. After all these years. Only more drugs!

Cancer is not the disease, it reveals it. That's a clue worth looking into.

They have no worthwhile purpose in life. Therefore they spend all their time criticizing everyone/thing else. So, because they sure aren't about to get of their couch they might as well tear down everyone who is actually doing anything of worth.

Unfortunately awareness has turned more into HYPE. This leads to misdiagnosis and mistreatment of breast cancer. It's good to be informed, but it's good to verify information out there. There'e no need for bashing, but there's also no need for the hype.

because it's been politicized and is stealing money and resources away from other , equally important cancers and diseases.
