Do you find it disturbing that the vast majority of questions here are " What should I get " ...?

I find it a little disparaging that the Christmas has

become all about greed and consumerism....

What has become of the true meaning to the holiday

Yes, I agree. I think their parents should be taking them to do volunteer work for others at this time.

Christmas has become very commercialized. It focuses more on presents than the true meaning (birth of Jesus).

I don't find it disturbing, because I still ask for things for Christmas. However, my family and I put out a Nativity scene, put candles (electric ones) in the window to help the Wise Men to find Jesus, and we go to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Mass.

There's nothing wrong with wanting something for Christmas if you know the true meaning. The whole thing of getting presents was started by St. Nicholas (a.k.a. Santa Claus), who would give presents to poor families. It's also similar to the Wise Men giving gold, frankincense, and myrrh to Jesus. :)

    Merry Christmas!

Retailers and advertisers have brought this on. People have now made it the biggest part of Christmas. This may not be your faith but I believe people calling there self Christens show get back to honoring the holiday for what it meet to be.
