Debate about "Walking Dead" The series. **SPOILERS if you haven't watched the latest episode**?

So, some friends of mine and I have been watching the new AMC Walking Dead series and we LOVE it. But one of my friends brought up some interesting points and I wanted to hear your thoughts on the matter.

1. Did Meryl use the stolen van to take the zombies back to camp as his crazy form of vengeance for being handcuffed to a roof?

My friends say yes but I say there are too many problems inherent in trying this and even Meryl isn't crazy enough to try. For instance, the cab and the hold were open to one another; how would he keep himself safe from the zeds? How would he lure them in and then close the doors without putting himself in danger? How would he get them back out again? I know there are ways to rig up remote controls for the doors, but I don't think he really had time to try. I'm thinking he had at MOST 5 hours before the group came back and discovered the van was gone. That isn't enough time for him to rig it up, set up with bait of some sort, get a bunch of zombies into the truck, then drive up to camp.

2. Darryl's arrows. He doesn't sterilize them between uses. That means he shot two zeds right before shooting the mexican guy in the butt. Wouldn't that be like the mexican getting bitten...since it's blood borne and the zed's blood would still be on the arrow? Or does the infection die after being in contact with air for a certain amount of time? Would the mexican he shot turn? What about the food that he hunts with it? Wouldn't it be contaminated?

I'm interested to hear your thoughts on these questions. Since we've talked it to death and have come to no clear conclusion.

Update:

EDIT: Chelsea, that was my argument against the van thing too. But, as I said, we've talked it to death and have reached no concensus

    1. They explained in one of the previous eps how they were getting closer to the camp because there were no humans left in the city. I'm assuming that's what happened and they were drawn by sounds/the fire/whatever.

    2. Haha, this is obviously just a TV mistake. Now that you mention it though, it seems so obvious.

i'm with your persons in this one, relatively. the folk I watch it with even have faith it particularly is how the geeks have been given to camp. I accept as true with you that obtaining them in the stolen truck has too many issues, yet there are different approaches he could have have been given them there. He could have pushed slowly and honked the horn/made numerous noise and that they could have observed [do no longer forget, they're attracted to noises]. relatively with Meryl's hand being severed, he could have taunted/lured them with how contaminated and bloody he became into... used rags lined in it to no longer rapidly get them to persist with, or some style of comparable catch. The timing does look somewhat suspect [the component to the gang that walked getting lower back to camp mere moments regardless of each little thing the walkers did], however the reliable men ran relatively quickly, understanding that Meryl became into in all probability on the way. on the different component to it, Meryl could have had to bypass sluggish if he have been luring a team of ineffective to the camp. As for extensive style 2, I by no skill concept approximately that! you're precise. i'm hoping they do no longer sometime return to that compound and locate the an infection has reached there because of the fact of Darryl's carelessness. Or, consistent with probability we are only meant to anticipate that he does sterilize them and we are basically no longer shown that section. the two way, that is relaxing that the prepare can get human beings speaking like this :]

I always wondered about these things too but I assume that it might later be explained, since we haven't seen Meryl yet and that it's only the 4th episode :) can't wait for the rest!

    1. I was wondering that myself but I think they've just made it look like that. As previous poster said they were getting close to camp anyway due to lack of food in city. Its possible they followed the sound of the stolen sports car and it took them that long to get there.

    2. It does show him wiping them but I think its one of those things they hope we won't notice.

    Loving this show!
