If the tax cuts are left to expire and the unemployed are cut off from getting their checks......?
Who's mostly to blame....the Republicans who insist on tax cuts for wealthiest or the Democrats who oppose Obamas' "compromise" plan?

DEMOCRATS!
@Sfancik, You really should get your numbers from a more neutral source, CBS and the New york Times are two of the most Liberal "news" sources on the planet. Do you really believe that they do not skew their numbers? As far as shoving legislation down our throats how about this... Obama:"We won you lost get over it." or Pelosi:"We have to pass it then you can read it"

Actually, given the subtext of the compromise its a bad deal for the country, saving the rich some seven billion over the years that will have to be made up by increasing the taxes on the rest of us anyway.
Sometimes you can make the people who voted for it happy, but have a bad effect on the country and that's what this did.
We do need to extend unemployment, it should not be by borrowed money, and raising the tax rate another three percent, to what it was under Clinton, won't bother anyone, and will help the debt and deficit.
We are past 'tax and spend' and past 'don't tax and spend anyway', we are up to "tax and cut spending'.
That's going to hurt, and we need to make sure it doesn't hurt people already on the edge.
This is the worst of both worlds, the Dems are correct to oppose it. The Republicans need to climb out of the Rich man's plumbers crack and see daylight.

You do realize that the Republican tax cut gave cuts to everyone, right? Only the Democrats want to tax the bejeezus out of successful people who create jobs and give the most cuts to the people who contribute the least. So which party is for equality again?

I blame the republicans. I don't understand why they are shoving their agenda down our throat against the will of the american people. I think they should step down and resign! I also think they may have been born in a foreign country and are therefore illegitimately in office!
Here are my sources...for the first part:
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20016602-50...
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/07/19/poll...
For the second part I don't really have a good source...but there's just something about Republicans I don't trust! They just seem very arrogant!
GIVE ME BACK MY COUNTRY!!!!
Source(s): @Johnny Mize....you mean like this source! You know...you're right, that puts it in a whole different perspective!!!! It's like the polls don't exist if you believe it hard enough. Is 36 +14 more than 44?? http://mediamatters.org/blog/201008020041 - 1 decade ago
The dems. They scream and scream about compromise until its their turn to make a concession. Then its all republican interference.
