Thompson center Venture or Mossberg 4x4?
I am looking for a good rifle in .308. Would like to spend around $800 for rifle, Nikon scope, browning sling and shells.
Update:
EDIT: Why not .308? Proven cartridge, numerous weights, used by more snipers than any other cartridge.
Welcome any thoughts.

The Thompson Venture is twice the gun that the Mossberg 4x4 is
however I'd not get a 308, get a 270 winny or a 7mm-08
