    That's right.

They allowed the corrupt banks to fail, and now they are laughing at the rest of us.

    This is the truth.

Iceland did the right thing by letting the banks fail, the US should have followed suit (and may very well do so when the stimulus wears off and the big banks need another bail out).

Russia amended it's constitution to outlaw the creation of a private central bank and set up a public central bank - they are doing very well despite the world wide recession.

China controls it's central bank and is also doing very well.

Iceland's currency collapsed in the first few minutes of the banking crisis a couple years ago. They ran to Russia for help. Angry people were in the streets. A question USA might be asking in the next few years is, which is better? Being run by banks or the Russian Mafia.

i assume it ought to provided that the Icelandic banks have been in theory worth around 8 cases the fee of the full of Iceland itself.this could be a confusing theory to wrap your head around yet whilst actual potential that the Icelandic government won't have the skill to attend to to pay for to bail their banking gadget out.

I think there are still some banks that had to be paid some money and the IMF got their pound of flesh as well - but it's nowhere near as bad as it would have been if they had not failed the banks. Iceland has an arrest warrant for some of their bankers, but they are living in luxury flats in London and the London police refuses to touch them.

If Iceland is not being run by the international banks, I would be absolutely surprised.

    Merry Christmas, anyhow...

Iceland was one of the first countries whose economy tanked because big banks made stupid investments. They are still trying to dig their way out.

"This is not about the brand of Visa, this is about politics and Visa should not be involved in this." What do you get when you mix corporation and politics, corporatism (fascism). Apparently Iceland doesn't like/and isn't involved in fascist policies, good for them.
