I use MAgic JAck at my work so I can have a line for personal long distance calls. We are using XP as our PC platform & it works well. When I have a home computer with Windows Vista, I di not have good luck, there was some audio file that interfered with the Magic Jack. When it works it's a cheap easy way to make a call. It if also affected by the quality of your internet connection. It's a great way to get a second line & make cheap calls. I don't know if I would use it as my only home phone.

Ooma is also cheap, with your initial cost being more but as long as Ooma says in business it's a great deal as well.

Best Buy has something called Ooma. It's suppose to be similar to "Magic Jack" where your not actually paying a phone bill, but the start up cost is a lot more. I think like $250. I'd look into that.

sure, it works as a 2d line and for long distance. i might surprisingly propose against utilising it to interchange the different sort of telephone provider, given the reality it needs the laptop on and dealing. you ought to apply MJ and cut back your nicely-known landline provider to the bone,
