ANY 3.8 REAR WHEE L DRIVE SHORT BLOCK SHOULD WORK. THE 3.8 BEEN OUT IN THE EARLY 80'S. AND YES THERE IS A DIFFERENT IN A FRONT WHEEL DRIVE AND A REAR WHEEL DRIVE BLOCK, MAINLY THE CASTING FOR THE MOTOR MOUNTS ON THE BLOCK. BUT STAY WAY FROM EARLY 90;S AND 80'S ENGINES, CAUSE THEY HAD ROD BEARING SPINNING ISSUES

up to the 2002 year model will work great.. in 2003 they added two new bolt holes to the block ( go figure why they did that just to say its a new design) and just about everything will change over for the swap, as the blocks are basically the same, but the differences is in the manifolds and various other turn key bolt-ons
