well i just got this battery/ electrical tester from my dad but he does not have the owners manual can any one explain how to use it or does any one have a link to the owners manual its an "Associated modle number 6042" thanks

I did, and got a ton of links. Even one straight to Associated's website.

Right there you can contact them, several ways, there is a technical service link, and OH MY GOSH!
They even have their manuals in pdf form so you can see them,and save em, and print them out.
