I am a current student at AMU. I am currently active duty in the Marine Corps. Given the fast paced nature of my career in the military, AMU is a perfect fit. You have to be disciplined though (as another individual posted). If you manage your time well, you should have no problem working while attending AMU. I have been a student off and on since late 2006 and will be receiving an associate of general studies shortly (going toward a BA in Poli Sci). The faculty at AMU is top notch, although some professors are better than others (you'll find that anywhere you go). The faculty accepts individuality and allows you to form and voice your own opinions about subject matter presented through the course. I am proud to consider myself a student at AMU. I even suggested AMU to my wife (who is a civilian). She completed most of her general ed requirements with AMU before transferring to a local university (AMU did not have the degree program that she was interested in). AMU is great for people seeking degrees in Homeland Security, Disaster Management, and degrees related to the intel field (career fields that are in high demand in the Post 9/11 job market). But do not get me wrong, AMU has other great degree programs that are in no way related to the military. Browse the campus and see what AMU has to offer. You may be surprised at what you'll find. Whatever your choice, good luck in your educational endeavors.

    Absolutely!

I'm almost finished with my bachelors in psychology and thinking that I will stay on for my masters also. It's a great school for busy people because you really have alot of options for organizing your time.

I started at AMU when I got pregnant. I was working full time and taking a full course load. If I can do it, anyone can!!! My son is now almost 3 and my degree is almost complete - that's with two whole semesters I took off to have a baby and take a break. You can complete a degree relatively quickly.

I absolutly recommend AMU to anyone - as long as you have the self discipline to keep yourself on track without alot of reminders from teachers.

Absolutely! I've been with AMU since 2005 and have had an excellent experience. I received my BA in Child Development from AMU last February and decided to stay with them for my Masters in Education. The school is regionally and nationally accredited. You'll find the academic challenges equal to or better than the traditional brick-n-mortar universities. Good Luck and hope to "see" you around campus!

    Hi there!

AMU is a great school. If you're looking to go to school online, it's a great option, as it's both regionally and nationally accredited and the professors aren't only professors, they are (or have been) professionals in the fields in which they teach.

I'm a current student. Its a great school for disciplined students. Its a purely online program with access to all the standard online journals, ebooks and great resources. It also has affordable tuition.

Yes. I am able to work full time and work on my advanced degree at once. I take 1 class every eight weeks and I am almost half-way through my program. I started in March.

Yes; I highly recommend it. I have a very busy schedule with work and family life. I am only a half time student and so far enjoy the journey.
