Why is my sims 2 crashing?

Well basically i've been playing the sims 2 for awhile now and yesterday i got the sims 2 free timee expansion pack and i installed it but it kept crashing and idon'tt know why?

So i uninstalled both of the games and installed them again but it didn't work.

I then just uninstalled both of them again and just installed the sims 2 but now thats not working either and i have no idea why it's doing that when it was working perfectly before.

Please help?

P.s I have a windows 7 and tons of memory space and video cards are up to date!

If you could help that would be great(: Thanks x.

When that was happening to me (it happened 3 times) the first time I cleaned the disk, and it went back to normal. Try that first.

Second time I realized my disk drive didn't work. If the disk isn't showing up in my computer after it crashes, then this is the problem. A USB disk drive is a good alternative, and they don't cost much.

Third time my computer had a virus. I had to get an anti-virus software (microsoft security essential works great) and it found it and my sims worked again.

I'm not sure personally, since you say everything is up-to-date and new.

I used to have an incredibly old thing, 10-years, I think? The Sims 2 would always crash on me.

    That's all I know.

If nothing said here works, send-out a support ticket.

EDIT: Like all these people, I've had viruses, controlled, but there where many.

Well if it was a CD you might have to clean it thoroughly and properly . Or the CD might be scratched and you might need a new one .

    Hope this helps
