Civilian going to Afghanistan?

Hello all, I'm a civilian going to do a year in Afghanistan and had a few questions.

Hello all, I'm a civilian going to do a year in Afghanistan and had a few questions.

1.What are the living conditions like for civilians in the bigger bases in country?

2.Do you get internet in your living area?

3.Should I take a laptop or just a PSP?

The answers to these questions and any other advice would be great. Thanks to all.

    I was in Kabul...

Civilians either live in Tents, or Hardened buildings... It all depends on if you luck out or not.

Internet was JUST coming to fruition when i was there... i went 4 months without it.

And as for what you should take, well what do you think you'll need for a year? I'd take everything needed to be entertained. It will get boring out there.

bigger bases are safe. but travel outside will be limited

    Some places have internet

    Take both if you can

It is not very easy to live as a Civilian or Military there yet
