Are HP Desktops Worth Buying?

i've found a computer for about $350 after instant rebate. without the monitor. is it worth buying. also they offer a free upgrade to 3G RAM and 500G memory, how are they able to give me that for free, do they just put in an inferior RAM and Harddrive making it so that i can get it at no extra cost, or is it great quality stuff.

i'm trying to find a really good computer that has at least 2G or 3G RAM with a 320G memory, windows 7, hopefully with a DDR2 memory, but if not i'll go with the DDR3. i was hoping to find one with DDR2 but only because i already have a 1G DDR2 RAM, but if they offer a 3G RAM DDR3, then there is no need for the DDR2. I'll go with the Home Premium, not professional.

i need it to be between $400 and $500.

i found a compaq and emachines, but they all say isn't worth buying.

You Mean 320G HDD right? I think HP is giving that out for low cost because they have new models to sell and they are getting rid of that product that's why it's in a sale. Also a 3GB RAM upgrade is quite cheap these days as HP I think sells 4GB memory now and they are focusing on it. Almost all HP has 3 memory slots so if it is a 3GB then the will be 3pcs of RAM. and remember that a 1 terrabyte Hard Disk (Sea Gate) only cost $90+ so a 500G HDD is quite cheap and it wil lbe exchanged by a 350 right?

So I say? Grab the deal with HP it's good with all the specs I think the price of the PC is approx $500 with al lthe upgrades. Another suggestion under my perspective if I'm in your shoes I will just use my $400-$500 to build a customized PC where I control twhat parts will be included. So it's up to you now but a $350 with all the parts is good.

btw What is the processor? I suppose it is dual or quad core right?

    Hope this helps out,

    Happy Holidays Everyone

I have always had good luck with HP machines. I just bought one yesterday from Office Depot, as a matter of fact. Athlon quad core, 750 gb, 4gb, in a bundle with a wide screen monitor. Advertised for $649 with a $50 mail -in rebate, but they charged me $599, and I still get the rebate.

Go with DDR3, and if you use anu media or vodeo, I would go with a bigger drive than 320GB.

place of work Depot I see, for the fee you are able to no longer beat it. There are lots greater effective slimlines available yet they are in lots of situations around $600-$seven-hundred. you're nevertheless going to could desire to pay $449 in save and handle those stupid mail in rebates. in case you do no longer strategies that that's a quite stable purchase.
