Which MPC should I buy?
Well I've been looking for a mpc a good month and lately I found a mpc 1000 for $320. I went up to Guitar center to talk to a guy who specializes in mpcs and he said that he would pick the mpc 2000xl over the mpc 1000 any day because of the pads but I have never had an mpc before and wondering if the pad feel would even matter. So should I let the oppurtinity to buy the mpc1000 go by and wait for a mpc2000xl or just buy the mpc 1000. Thanks

Alright, here's the best answer you can get on this subject. The MPC 2000xl is the central nervous system of hip-hop and other genres..you will never be able to replace that sound and beat making quality/experience with any other drum machine. The 2 reasons alone that I just listed should make you opt out for the 2000xl. 1, for the feel/sensitivity of the pads and 2, for the sound. The 2000xl has a much gainier/cruchier sound than its brothers and sisters,, being the 1000, 3000 and 2500. the 1000 obviously is the cheaper version that can't compare and the pads are crummy as heck! The 2000xl should absolutely be the first drum machine owned by any serious producer..then maybe step it up to the 2500 or 3000
(p.s.) they still won't sound the same as the 2000xl though/no machine has that sound

I have a 1000, I love it, but the pads do suck... also, it seems to be more fragile than the 2000xl... I've had to dish out $230 twice for repairs, I got it for $600, plus $460, I would've been better off buying a 2000... you would too.

I have a 500, but the 2000 looks better. If price doesn't matter, get the 2000. If you still need help on it after you get it, just look up tutorials on Youtube.
