Can someone explain to me the accuracy of one's chart and how on earth it relates to humanity?

This is an interesting section. Not a favorite, but it's still interesting. I've stumbled upon various inclusive questions, and i've read their following inclusive answers. Well, the only conclusion I can come up with is it's always 'opinion' never really aiming towards facts... we have people like ChainsLight for example, vehemently and humorously trying to challenge astrology overall.

But how does one's chart.. and the signs in their planet affect them as a person. I've read my chart... and i've seen other peoples charts. But how exactly, where is the accuracy in saying that each and every sign, in a planet is responsible for how a person reacts, and behaves on a daily basis? Who decided this? I used to think it was a simple matter of nature vs nurture, temperaments, environment, and the human thought process. But to think that planets have a say in how we behave.. is a little unsettling to me. Does astrology have any sense of tangibility? Like psychology, and the study of humanity, etc, since there are factual tests, surveys, statistics proven towards so and so theories. This is another reason why I strongly believe humanity does not, and almost will never take responsibility for their actions... there's always a matter, always an external 'explanation' to why they behave this way. For eg. I have read too much here, that 'scorpios were vengeful' individuals. And 'what chart makes someone vengeful'. Is that not a question aimed towards psychology rather then astrology

Its just something I have noticed, and I am very unsure about.. I think that it is fun, but how can it be taken seriously.. as an actual study? I would love to hear your thoughts on this.. I am not attacking anyone, these are just things I have observed and would love to hear outside opinions.

Update:

Interesting.. does mysticism well.. have any relation to any spiritual aspect, namely.. religion?

I've been away for a while but I gather from another post you've made that you are somewhat unsure of your actual chart, you were unsure of your Venus and Mars signs and you also stated elsewhere that you didn't feel like your Pisces Moon. Do you not have an accurate Birth time or place, I cannot think why you would be unsure of your chart details.

The problem with Astrology is that there are many differing types, Vedic, Sidereal, Draconic etc. So where do you being and which one is correct? In all honesty, Astrology is probably not a recognized science and these multitude of options do not reinforce the solidity of the theory behind Astrology.

The other problem is psychologically based pointed out to me by one of my friends whom I was speaking with about many things. I mentioned that after I became interested in Astrology that it described certain aspects of my behaviour and events in the past and he argued that, "Could you have made those events in the past fit the description?" He was right to some description, it is entirely possible that I could have fitted my past and used Astrology to explain it.

I then asked why all of the girls i've ever been attracted to shared certain key elements in their charts, opposed, squared, trine, sextile etc. Venus - Mars and Sun -Moon aspects. This was before I became interested enough to delve deeper.

"its always opinion... never fact" that is true, I'm personally unsure if fact even exists on any level, since everything we know is based on personal experience and since humans by nature are subjective beings, rather than objective, it is very difficult to distinguish entirely an empirical measurement of fact. If you get enough people to believe in one thing, does it not then become fact? If you look at religion this is not the case, currently. Back in 1300s or anywhere around that time, go back to Babylonian and Egyptian empires, they fully believed in Gods and mythology and to them it may well have been a fact. I digress, Astrology is opinion only, there will always be people debating both sides whether it does impact or not.

I'm not sure I entirely understand what you mean by, "acts and behaves on a daily basis". If you are suggesting that it controls their actions and behaviours so that you can pretty much know the response of someone or their temperament then I would disagree. The chart gives suggestions of how the person may be inclined to act and behave and hints at what their core values may be. As for the case of nature Vs nurture, I personally don't think there is a case for either side. I believe its integrated. The chart you are born with are your instincts, they may cover what you want and need and require to feel fulfilled, happy etc. This is all nurtured by your ever on-going path through life, especially your early years at home where your outlook and view of the world and things is shaped almost incorrigibly.

The inquisitiveness of human nature will always be asking questions and seeking answers to those questions that are hardest to answer. The very thought that we are totally alone and totally responsible for ourselves is a scary thought. If there is no reason or purpose behind our existence or actions then what ultimately is there to live for. Enjoy yourself have a good time, grow as a person but then what, when you die, thats it. Everything you ever experienced, learned or did is gone, wiped out as if it almost never existed. Astrology is tied in to mysticism and the karmic wheel and hence rebirth. Mysticism is inherently religious, it was the founding point for religion, people believed in the mystic and developed religion to explain certain things they could not thousands of years ago.

Take astrology for what it is to you, if you see it as fun and an interesting topic do. I don't take it 100% but thats my own self doubt and questioning of whether something can be 100% true.

This is a link to an Astrology forum where they consider and study and have greater knowledge on the whole of Astrology than on Yahoo Answers, I would recommend taking a look if you are interested although, I will caution you that, I don't think there is anyone on those forums who does not believe in astrology and I don't know their take on someone asking for a debate on the subject. There are many articles that can provide in depth knowledge on peoples opinions on many subjects.

    Hopefully see you around.

I understand your points. Indeed, astrology is one of those arts of which the validity is extremely difficult to prove. It has its roots in the ancient Indus Cush valley, where various texts, some of the most ancient in the world, describe the influences of energy-matter, the zodiac signs and the planets. In these texts, such as the Upanishads, they attribute one of the four forms of energy-matter, the four meta-elements we know as Fire, Water, Air and Earth, to each of the planets. In my research this has been the only information I could find that describes why each planet and sign imparts the certain attributes that it is said to. This information was said to have been compiled by ancient seers, so there is really no way to prove that what they say is correct, but when done correctly, we do see validity in the various interpretations of influences in astrology.

The only fact that I have come across that has scientifically proven the influences of astrology is a bit of science and mysticism. Scientifically, it has been proven that every object in the universe has a vibration. It pulses at a specific frequency. I.e. the Earth pulses at a rate of 13 cycles per second. As entities in the universe we are sensitive to these vibrations. They influence us when exposed to them, depending on how we think and what we desire. Mysticism, has an axiom, "As above, so below." And if we look closely from the microcosm made up of a community tiny atoms filled with electrons and a nucleus which they roam around, to the universe with giant planets rotating billions of stars, everything is just a hologram.

I've always thought that the chart is what you are born with, and based on experience and environment you change. I think it's a good thing since it shows people their faults since people tend to dodge anything that is not encouragement ( I know this too well being from the end of Generation Y, where everyone on a team gets a trophy) The chart shows how an individual can improve themselves. That's how I've always looked at it. I think it's a wise thing to do. I don't think anyone ever strives to be a worse person, only becasue that's what their astrological destiny is.

Looking at yahoo answers isn't really going to answer your question fully since it is all based on opinion. People seem to deny their flaws, that's why yahoo answers is so contraversial. I hope that made sense haha I tend to be bad at explaining things :P

There's no way with present knowledge to "prove" scientifically that the planets have any affect on a person. That does not mean it's useless. A while back, scientists couldn't figure out how a bee was able to fly, all scientific knowledge worked against it ever being able to lift off. Then, ping, quantum physics came up with the answer. Scientists have to be able to explain everything. No person knows why astrology works, but in my himble opinion it does. Perhaps some time in the future there'll be an astrological ping, who knows. If astrology works for you, then great, go ahead and try to make some use of it. If you disagree with it, fine, don't use it. It's as simple as that!

It is okay to study astrology for fun and games. Some people do that and that is their choice, as long as they do not attack the people who seriously study it.

Astrology is one of those things, like an existence of a Creator, is something that can not be proved or disproved. Same thing with ghosts, demons, spirits, souls, etc. Belief in Astrology is based on experiences. I think most people are skeptics when they first learn of astrology, when they are reading about sun signs. I did not entirely buy into astrology when I only knew of my sun sign. "Well, I have SOME traits of being a Sagittarius but not a lot of them." I noticed that with sun signs, people were either like their sun sign or not at all.

I learned about charts in 2006 and did my own on Cafeastrology.com. I was suprised by how well it described me-- It described my strengths, weaknesses and my overall personality.

With regards to humanity, each planet refers to a different "puzzle piece" of the personality. Venus is how we show affection, socialize, love, etc. Moon is how we feel and what we need to feel secure. Our sun sign is our ego and core. Our Mars is our sex drive, ambition, stamina, anger, etc.

Astrology should not be used as a way to say "it's okay to do bad deeds." People should take responsibility for their actions. But astrology can be a tool or guide to help you learn how to improve yourself.

Anyway, I would write more but I'm leaving and going somewhere.

Astrology = superstition, selective thinking, confirmation bias, Forer effect.

No one here is going to answer your question because they don't want to think for even one second that astrology is bs, it would ruin the whole fairy tale.

They don't want to be challenged, they don't want to think. They just want to believe.
