#1 - Don't shake it.
#2 - Don't let the temperature of the bottle change just before opening it. If it is cold and you let it warm up prior to opening it, it will explode.
Best tip: Put a towel or washcloth over it and pull from the outside of the towel. the cork won't propel itself AND the towel across the room. Plus, you can hold the towel on the bottle with the hand that you are not using to pull the cork off with. Just make sure to leave enough slack in the towel so that you can actually pull the cork without pulling the towel, that'd make you look silly.

who desires a corkscrew in case you've were given a hammer, a screwdriver a large screw and a sequence of pliers? screw the screw into the cork each and each and every of ways down leaving sufficient to pry it out 0.5 an inch with the nail remover portion of the hammer. then use the pliers to pull the cork gently out of the bottle. no mess, and no bits of cork on the bottom of your wine. delight in! or attempt this one...(4 champagne / sparkiling wine) eliminate foil protecting the cork. Fold a fabrics serviette in 0.5 and 0.5 again, and wrap it around the bottom of the wine bottle. hit upon a company, timber, flat vertical floor, at the same time with the jamb of an open doorway, or maybe a really solid timber wall. Stand dealing with the demanding floor and carry the wine bottle above one shoulder with both fingers. One hand could be on the neck of the bottle, the different hand close to the bottom conserving the serviette on. Pound the bottom of the bottle into the timber floor repeatedly, being particular the bottom of the bottle strikes the timber frivolously (via the serviette's padding). The inertial sloshing of the wine interior the bottle will slowly push the cork out, assuming the cork isn't previous and rotting.

1) DO NOT SHAKE
2) Remove the wire cage from the cork, assuming there is one
3) Firmly grip the CORK
4) Twist the BOTTLE until you feel the cork loosen
5) Gently easy the cork out, the pressure from inside the bottle should make this easy once you have loosened it.
The most important of these however are 3 & 4 - Always grip the cork & twist the bottle, never the other way round.
