why do i have elevated liver enzymes what is wrong with me?
I am 19 years old and I was not feeling well lately like the past 3 months i've had a ton of mucus dripping down my throat and swollen lymph nodes and i've been feeling really tired. I had a blood test and found out i had elevated liver enzymes. i don't know why i dont drink and am not on any medication. although i was on amoxycilin before the test because they thought i had a sinus infection. but i dont know if that would make a difference in the test or not.
Also I got tested for HIV in the same blood test and it came back inconclusive. Does that mean I have it, i'm really scared. I have never even had sex but I made out naked with a guy just 1 time 4 months ago and his d*ck rubbed against my vagina with precumm on it so I don't know if that could have given it to me. I was worried so I got tested and now im more worried bc its inconclusive. Why is that?
Also I still have mucus dripping down my throat and feel really weak and tired. I am supposed to get a liver sonogram soon. But I am just wondering if anyone could tell me what is possibly wrong with me. I am so scared i'm dying. the doctor said i might have hepatitis too and i need another blood test. i'm so scared. how is it possible i could get hiv and hepatitis from not even having sex?
no i've never had a blood transfusion and i dont do drugs.

There are different things that this could be:
Mononucleosis is a possibility. This can cause enlarged lymph
nodes, enlarged liver and spleen. (it is known as the kissing
disease because it is passed from one person to another this way).
Simple blood testing can show alot as far as having a problem:
1)The liver enzymes you mentioned, give the doctor an idea if
there is liver cell damage done...these enzymes are made
by the liver cells and when they become damaged, the
enzymes will leak out and go higher on your blood tests results.
(These are known as the ALT,AST,GGT, and Alkaline Phosphatase
[ALP] tests)
2)The liver function tests will give the doctor an idea of how well
the cells of the liver are able to do the necessary functions of
the liver (over 500 of them) to keep the body well
(These tests are known as the Bilirubin, INR, Albumin, Pt, PTT)
3)The doctor can also do the liver viral blood tests to check
and see if a virus has entered your body and is using the liver
cells to replicate itself...like Hepatitis A,B,C,etc)
To look up any of these tests:

This is usually what takes place with a liver problem:
1)The liver cells become damaged.
2)Your immune system will respond to this damage done and
cause inflammation of the liver.
3)The inflammation of the liver will cause your liver to enlarge
in size. (This is what can be seen on the sonogram
[ultrasound] you may have done....other things would be
to see how well the blood is flowing through the liver,
if there are any growths there, and the overall texture
and structure of the liver)
There are many different causes of the liver cells becoming
damaged:
alcohol consumption, medication toxification,
chemical exposure, mushroom poisoning,
biliary obstruction/malformation/infection,
viral or parasite infections [can be gotten from
contact with feces, blood, body fluids, etc}
hereditary conditions, metabolic disorders,
fatty liver disease, cardiac/vascular problems,
tumors/cysts/cancer/growth, and other things.
The doctor seems to be trying to cover all things that
may be the cause of your liver problem. They do this
with most patients. If this does turn out to be a liver
problem...you could ask to be referred to a
gastroenterologist (that deals with the entire
digestive system).
If the cause of the problem can be found and stopped or
treated, then the liver problem may reverse itself and you
should be fine. It is only when the inflammation leads to
the liver cells dying off...that it can become an irreversible
disease known as Cirrhosis of the liver.
Best wishes

Take him to the vet. It may not be your usual vet but there are clinics that are open 24/7. I've heard of vets that are willing to work out a credit payment with you if you can't afford it all at once. Honestly though, it's a good idea to keep some money set aside if you have pets, especially ones that go outside. Keeping your dog contained is your responsibility, it's for his safety. You or whomever the home belongs to should have a fence if you're not going to watch him. If he really looks like he's in such bad shape, you should try to get him professional help right away, rather than turning to yahoo-answers.

I think it more possible that you have Mononucleosis (Mono), personally. I would talk to your doctor about having you checked for that.
