My 1TB hard drive says its only 288GB???????? WHAT WENT WRONG?!?
So earlier today, I installed a new 1TB hard drive into my computer. I had 2 320GB drives in my CPU (C: and D:) drives and i replaced my C: drive with the 1TB. to back up my info, i used a Windows Image Backup, and put that on my External Hard Drive. When I first restarted my computer to boot it with command prompt ( to be able to use the system image) it didnt show that it recognized my new drive. In command prompt, it showed my secondary 320GB hard drive as the C: drive, so i did the system image on that one. After it was all done, and my computer booted up normally, I went into My Computer to see all of my new space, but it didnt show it! It says my C: drive is only 288GB and my E: drive is 298GB. That's EXACTLY the same as it was before I installed my new Hard Drive. Im thinking that somehow I formatted something along the way which makes me only able to use the 288GB that was available before I installed my new hard drive. What i'm wondering is how I would be able to use the full 1TB of the drive. Thanks!
Disk Management show my C: Drive as HP (exactly what it was before) with a capacity of 288.75GB (its a 1TB Drive!!!!!)...exactly what it was before.
Ok so I was looking at Disk Management and saw that my C Drive has 633.42GB of unallocated space. how can i be able to use that?
So since I used a System Image, I cant extend my C: drive to add the 633GB using Disk Management. is there any programs or other way for me to add the unallocated GB? I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, if that matters..

It's a 1TB drive alright. See how it says 288GB for your partition, 10GB for a reserve, and a whopping 650GB that's unallocated? The problem is you only dedicated a measly 300GB for your Windows partition, when you should've dedicated the entire 1TB for it. That is why all that extra 650GB of dormant, unallocated space is sitting there not being utilized. Reinstall Windows, and this time dedicate the full capacity of the drive for the partition.
EDIT: To add the 633GB of unallocated space to your current partition: http://www.ehow.com/how_7233563_extend-space-other...

I have a feeling it is because you used an image, I am sorry to say but you may need to start over and install windows clean on your new drive. Partitioning tables can be complicated. If you go to disk management under computer management and take a screen shot of that I may be able to give you more help.
Edit: Well in the screen shot it shows you having 633GB of unallocated space. So you did something wrong. what i would do is back up your data to you external drive they format all internal drives and start over. But you do have your 1TB; 633GB of unallocated space + 288 for Drive C: + 9GB for the image that is like 900GB in theory there is 1024 GB in a TB but you lose some due to the file system.

Try to resize the Partitions Using GParted via PartedMagic. You can find it on Ultimate BootCD, or stand alone.
