Did the Netflix CEO's insult offend you?

Did the CEO of Netflix insult offend you? And if so, did/ would you cancel your subscription because of it? It seemed to received no news coverage at all by networks. (Just interested in opinions from everyone over this)

The Hollywood Reporter asked Hastings whether he was "concerned that American Netflix subscribers will look north and ask for the same discount Canadians get at $7.99?"

CEO Hastings' reply (with a dig at Americans): "How much has it been your experience that Americans follow what happens in the world? It's something we'll monitor, but Americans are somewhat self-absorbed."

Came across this Article of the CEO's insult to the American people: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/09/23/netflix-c...

And his apology here:

No because I agree with him, and I'm American.

The reporter who asked him that question is probably the only American who knew about that.
