Formula preperation question?

My son is on Enfamil Gentlease with added cereal & I just recently realized when I mix his bottles, its more than I thought. I add 5oz of water, 2&1/2 scoops of formula & his tbsp of cereal....once its mixed its closer to 5&1/2 - 6oz!!!!!! I guess my question is, is my baby eating a 5oz bottle or what? And does this seem to be a lot for a 3 month old? (He is on a pretty good schedule & eats 5 bottles a day)

And since I know people will say something, he gets added cereal due to severe acid reflux, recommended by the Pediatric GI.

Hes eating whatever amount is shown once its all mixed, if he finishes it. I don't think thats alot. If you're only feeding him when hes hungry it shouldn't be a big deal. My son was on cereal as well when he was about 2 months old for reflux.

Well, sorta. You have to remember that its going to look fuller because of the stuff you added to the water. Adding weight to the water (like cereal formula) will make the bottle look fuller. Its kinda like when you have a glass of water, and you put ice in it, the water goes up, because of the added weight. Sorry if this was explained strangely, it's really late and I'm tired. haha. Good luck. :)

and no, i dont think its a lot for a 3 month old.

omg i used to freak out because of this too! lol...dont worry, the cereal makes the amount go hire..idky...but it always happened to me..also, just a tip. Dont do 1/2 scoops..your amounts need to be 2, 4, 6, or 8 o. exact...so if he eats 5 ounces...why dont you mix 4 o. add the cereal, it should go up to 5 or at least close...if not do 6 ounces....it should work. you dont want to water poison your baby. good luck.
