Book about hell or something like that?

I remember watching on History channel or A&E channel that there was a book written a LONG time ago about a journey through hell. I've been looking stuff up and I keep running across Dante's Inferno but for some reason, that doesn't sound right. I remember seeing it at a Barnes & Noble store where all the classic books are located. If it is Dante's Inferno, then just ignore this question, but if it is something else, please let me know. I thought it would be really interesting to read something like that. I heard a lot of people say that it is very captivating and so real, it feels like you have been there yourself.

Just looking for a good read.

Thanks

Quite easily Dante's Inferno; it's the first part of "The Divine Comedy" (the other parts are Purgatorio and Paradiso). Dante is led through the 9 levels of hell. And yes, the Inferno was very well written. i read it as a senior in high school, and it wowed me. Definitely pick it up if you get the chance. Not exactly biblically informed writing, but a very interesting concept.

    The Inferno - Dante

    Paradise Lost - John Milton

Some works by William Blake; can't remember at the moment.

    The Bible

  • It has to be The Inferno - it's like the best book about hell ever written. The most famous, too. if you haven't read it, you should.
