gmail and google documents?

Is there a way to move gmail file attachments directly to google doc's without download/upload steps

    Good question, but I don't see a way to do it.

    Some attachments (pdfs and doc, maybe others) can be viewed in Google docs and then you'll see a "Save in Google Docs" option.
